The kids not looking real alert defensively before that Stanton HR.

Man, if only there were any clubhouse leaders around to address that stuff.

And now Cespedes being Cespedes...I know the games mean nothing but this is one that's going to get a Terry reamout after the game.

That clubhouse leadership stuff is all overrated (if you listen to any fan that hasn't played sports at any level before).

Maybe it's better they find out Reyes isn't one before they do something stupid like bringing him back tauting him as the replacement for Grandy's leadership.

This is going to be an ugly last month and a half. Not just on the field, but I get the sense also within the clubhouse, in the front office (unnamed executives commmenting to press), and certainly in the seats. There's gonna be a lot of boos raining down, more than likely. A lot of popular players were sent out. Kids are learning. Then again, draft position.

Hopefully, Sandy chooses a solid middle reliever or backup infielder with that top five pick.

Yeah hopefully he doesn't draft the next Nimmo or Cecchini. Talk about wasted top picks.

Overrated does not mean nonexistent. Plenty of very good to great players have credited past veterans with being instrumental in their maturation and development.

They're going to get the rest of the season to prove if they are going to be in the plans for 2018. Rosario definitely is, but we'll find out if Smith, Cecchini, and Nimmo are worth holding on to.

What makes you think this when there is zero evidence that Terry (or Sandy or anyone) ever confronts the obviously non-caring, poor-example-setting Cespedes? No one (including, inexplicably, NYFS members) ever calls out Cespedes on his apathy. It even took forever to GKR to finally address it and even they still dance around it. And in the context of supposedly being concerned about Rosario playing with Cabrera, it makes even less sense.

Don't get me wrong; I hope you are correct; it's long overdue. My personal theory is that everyone thinks if they confront him, it just gets worse for the next 3 years.

As an aside, if you're watching the game, I thought it was unfair to put Rosario and Cespedes in the same sentence. All the indications are that Rosario cares, hustles, etc and that this was the kind of rookie mistake that will be corrected over time. All the indications from Cespedes are the exact opposite and it's only getting worse over time.

Give him a break.

He probably lost it in the eclipse.

At least the season is almost over. Just 40 games left after today. :-)

d'Arnaud really having a lousy season again. Just 1 HR post ASG break. .669 OPS. I can see why teams traded for him away twice.
