Mets1 won 7-3.
Hector Rodriguez: 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K

Mets2 won 8-2. As usual the opposition had problems keeping Shervyen Newton off the bases. He went 1 for 2 with 2 walks and a HBP.

Yoel Romero was 4 for 5 with a run and an RBI.
Cristopher Pujols was 2 for 4 with a double, run and RBI.
Jeison Rodriguez was 2 for 5 with a homer, 2 runs and 2 RBIs.

I've seen the DSL guys end up absolutely nothing far too many times but I'm curious about Newton until proven otherwise.

It appears the Mets are promoting 3B prospect Jhoan Urena to Las Vegas. Three years later, finally getting out of St. Lucie.

The guys they like get promoted to Binghamton for the playoff run, IMHO.

Uceta to Bingo.

He looks like a favorite to see the majors some time by the middle of next season. It looks like there will finally be a good group of home grown relief talent pushing thru by next season with all the arms that were added. If they can get the IF right this winter, I might actually turn bullish on 2018 at some point.

Newton grew up in Europe, played baseball with the dutch academy. I wonder what the competition there was like and how much he played growing up. He might get a pass on repeating. He pitched some too. Has a nice arm.

Supposedly a "legit" athete altogether . Like I said I don't trust FSL numbers but he's at least on my "radar". Big kid with good numbers and solid scouting report (for what you can get from the dsl"

Sluggin' David Thompson hits a game-tying 3-run homer to cap a 5-run Binghamton 6th. Matt Harvey is off the hook.
