That's committing another three years of Conforto in center.

Is it worth it for a guy that doesn't look like much of a fielder?

All depends IMO if someone out there believes he can stay on the field. If someone feels that I'm thinking your dollar amount is pretty much right but I think he would get 6/110

I'm thinking maybe a Ces-like deal for him?

If we're going to give JD a deal like that why not just bring Bruce back for less?

Why sign Matt Holliday when we could just sign Jason Bay for less?

Slight difference in we know Bruce can play here and not have his career go down the drain.

Some people are holding onto the Bruce hostility for some reason.

I wouldn't mind Bruce back. You're basically guaranteed to get 30 homers and 100 RBIs, advanced stats be damned.

Would love to have Bruce (and/or Granderson) back. Two excessively easy to root for guys (who contribute).

That said, my gut feeling is there's little chance Bruce wants to come back. He was thought to be anti-NYC early on and I'm betting that's still the case. Maybe he got "converted" to the Mets ala Keith Hernandez but I doubt it. I think we have a better chance of signing the Bruce who could throw a speedball by you.

Bruce and Walker both expressed interest in resigning with the mets this year. I think he's fine staying here, but I also think he'll go to the team that offers him the most money. That's the bottom line.

I've always loved a good underdog story. Go Mets (2018). I know an underdog when I see one.

Well, did you really know that about Bay before he got here? Not like he struggled on a contending Red Sox team.

Point is that Bruce proved he could do well here - to the tune of a career best 125 wRC+ this season. JD Martinez the last few years:

2014: 154
2015: 137
2016: 142
2017: 147

So, I mean, thats why you would prefer JD. He's better.
