Can't imagine Boyd and Evans getting 40 man spots unless they are pulling the plug on several guys before September 1.

And really, the only guys that could feasibly be waived are Becerra, Milone, if Cabrera was traded, Pill (which would be a not nice move), maybe McGowan.

Rhame is already on the 40 man, but Callaghan and Bautista will need protecting.

So we are at what 40 guys on the 40 with Tajieron purchase, probably waive Beccerra/Milone, maybe DL Ces/Conforto/Pill(though would require him getting paid for the month). Matz/Wheeler 60 too i guess. Take Wright off too. That could leave six spots for Sept callups-Carrilo, Evans, Boyd, Callahan, Bautista, Bashlor. Guys left hanging would be Uceta, Guillorme, Oswalt. Syndergarrd coming back would also make one less spot open. Also factor in Walker PTBNL too maybe. Cabrera trade too i guess. Letting McGowan go would be a little early for me.

Seacrest/Edgin/Regnault/Crismatt are other guys too.

If they waive Milone, who starts? Molina? Plawecki?

Why not Oswalt? Or Molina? Both are roster/roster eligibles...

Milone isn't even an innings eater to save the pen.

Because they're actually even worse than Milone. Or at least Molina definitely is. Starting them here would be harmful to their long-term development most likely.

Yeah, I'm going to disagree with that.
...24 hits, 11 walks in 16 innings. 7 homers, 19 ERs in 4 starts.

Has averaged 4 innings per start with the Mets, has not had a WHIP lower than 1.5 in three years, and has allowed a slugging percentage of Trout-like proportions to RHB.

Yeah, Milone is awful. But I don't really care since the Mets suck regardless.

Molina isn't even a good AA starter from a stuff perspective.

Milone is one of those guys that started his career decently and keeps getting opportunities based on his first few starts in the majors years ago. Otherwise he hasn't shown anything in years. He just doesn't throw hard enough to get major leaguers out. Hell, I don't think he throws hard enough to minor leaguers out.

Milone doesn't throw much slower than Molina.
