If that was the reason it wasn't voiced to Conlon who apparently was confused by the move to the pen.

There is no rule regarding repeating the AFL.

Thompson, to me, is the clear guy to watch in the group because his glove has rated out well all throughout the minors and he has swung it like a legit prospect the last 100+ games. Among the four, he has the best chance to develop into a starting player (Nido not too far behind because catchers don't need to hit all that much).

To me, the guy in my avatar is still the best prospect in that group.

On tools alone, Guillorme has the highest ceiling there. But he also has the best performance track record. Thompson's wOBA (.334) and wRC+ (104) are only marginally better than Guilorme's on the season (.331 & 102). And keep in mind, Thompson is 11 months older.

Even if you leave out his first month, Thompson's .820 OPS, .361 wOBA, 122wRC+ since the start of May is good, but doesn't really standout as a breakout really good prospect at an offensive position, for a 23-year old in Binghamton. Just last year, Phillip Evans had an .859 OPS, .386 wOBA, and 140 wRC+ there, at age 23 without leaving out any months. That does stand out some, but he still doesn't get many prospect mentions.

And, if you wanted to cherry pick for Guillorme too, you could say that since 6/7 he has a .403 OBP, .350 wOBA, and 115 wRC+ over 318 PA. From a plus defensive SS, a year younger, that shows at least as much promise.

And in comparison to Nido, while he's a solid enough catcher, Guillorme is a plus enough defender to more than offset the positional difference. So Nido needs to hit at least as much to have as much value. And right now Guillorme is a much better hitter.

But the bottom line though for me with Guillorme is, the raw power there doesn't seem to really be all that lacking. He's not Ruben Tejada, or worse Wilfredo Torvar. He doesn't have the upside there of Rosario, but I think there's more potential than is showing up yet as in game power. What is showing is strong pure hitting ability. I think that and his glove are going to give him the chances to continue to develop. Ultimately, I think he'll be a better hitter than many are giving him credit for.

I agree with you on Guillorme.

I think a lot of people are sleeping on Nido. Yes, the bat wasn't there this year, but if he's potentially a plus glove at catcher, so that makes him worth watching.

And I like Thompson just because the hit ceiling is pretty good. He's probably the lowest floor of those 3, but we could really us a real 3rd baseman and he has a shot at being that, even if league average, that would be a big addition to the team.

I don't know what to think about Kacz but he's moved quickly so far. He could be a sleeper, who's probably more of a 2019 guy than 2018.

I like Kaczmarski as a guy who just looks like enough of a hitter, even though older, to be a sleeper late bloomer T.J. Rivera type. Not enough tools to be a regular, but an outside chance to hit enough to earn a roster spot at some point.

Lets face it, all these guys are somewhat fringy. Look at career minor league OPS:

.792 Kacmarski
.732 Thompson
.690 Guillorme
.678 Nido

For Nido, it's not really about one bad year, it's about having only had one good year with the bat.

I think Guillorme is the one guy there who would make a top 20 even in a deep system, in part just because his overall profile, lefty bat with plus middle infield glove, and high contact rate, means he at least has a good chance to fit nicely in a utlility role.

Nido and Guillorme are 40 man (or soon to be in the case of Guillorme) guys and top 15 in this system.

Thompson and Kaz are borderline top 30, with Thompson the better of the two.

If Boyd wasn't in the plans, anyone think Flo's injury might change that? I realize there are 40 implications but shouldn't they be rewarding both Boyd and Evans for strong second halves after their season ends tmrw? Aren't these guys about ready to be candidates for the bench anyway? I'm certainly not concerned about the 40 spots considering some players already on who should be removed.

AFL announces the Mets are sending Mickey Jannis, Tim Peterson, Matt Pobereyko and Kyle Regnault to round out the contingent.

I'm not as familiar with the pitchers as the hitters. Peterson's the most interesting right? High K relief pitcher. Jannis is fun cause he's a knuckle baller but hasn't done much last couple years. Will have to look up the other two.

Regnault ( just looked up), 28 year old lefty signed from the independent league. Solid stats.

Pobereyko has ridiculous stirkout numbers in the independent league this year. Only been a met for a couple months (released by the d-backs in 2016). Curious. I don't remember the mets signing him.
