I'd like to see Nimmo raise his hands on his swing setup in the offseason. Just a thought.

Gotta love the tank. Gives me such warm and fuzzies heading into next year.

But please by all means, give me more Flores at 3B

Yeah was going to drop a Flo/3B reference but I guess I don't need to. I will say that some very astute fans seem to have a blind spot for this guy.

Watching some of that game, it hit me like a ton of bricks who they need to target this winter- Zack Cozart.

By the way, isn't June 2022 a more accurate date for when we should expect the fruits of the tank?

Flexen simply isn't very good. He might be a solid RP but I've seen nothing to suggest he's going to be a good MLB SP (yeah surprises happen).

I know he was never on the same plane as far as prospect-ranking goes, but Flexen reminds me a ton of watching Giolito last year.

There's nothing necessarily wrong with the arsenal on paper, but its clear it just doesn't fool/overwhelm major leaguers at all. Being ahead in the count is really rendered meaningless when guys aren't chasing your stuff out of the zone and you're not getting whiffs on your stuff in the zone.

We're not going anywhere this year anyway, so a #4 pick beats a #8 pick. It flat out does. Nothing wrong with wanting the #4 pick.

But Wilmer on 3rd . . . I've wanted him on 2nd for a long time now.

I've always loved a good underdog story. Go Mets (2018). I know an underdog when I see one.

He had only 48 innings above A ball. What we're seeing is not unexpected. He was not supposed to be up here this year. His HR and BB rates are way out of line with anything he showed in the minors. I don't think he should be written off based on the results he's getting now. I think his appropriate role next year is 6th or 7th on the SP depth chart. He should eventually make a serviceable 5th SPer.

Agreed. There is a certain X factor that goes beyond simply throwing x hard or having a solid slider. Hitters look very, very comfortable in the box against him and I don't see how that changes.

Serviceable 5th SPer can be said potentially about plenty of pitchers. He doesn't strike me as anything more than potential filler you look to improve upon. He doesn't show anything to suggest he's suddenly going to make big league hitters uncomfortable. They stand in there and take confident swings. Flexen was getting plenty of NYFS/Mets twitter hype. What differentiates him from a guy like Oswalt? or Conlon? He's more of a "maybe" than our next "good" SP in my eyes.

And yet, how many more times will we read posts that in some way have Flores at 3B as an option going forward. It's the SS thing all over again.
