Homer of the 8 ERA. :D

Go Mets.

Fun Trivia.

Guess which met, since being called up is 8 for 19 with 2 walks, 2 Ks and 3 xbhs? Hint. Nearly everyone had written him off.

Mets take an early 2-0 lead.

Tonight's Rooster:

SS Reyes
RF Nimmo
2B Cabby
3B Wilma
C Noodlebat
1B Dom
CF Lagares
LF Matt Reynolds.

Now, there's a lineup to tank by.

P: Montero

We're going up against this guy who hasn't been much good since 2014

Don't look now but Montero's having a solid game. 5 innings, 1 hit, 6 Ks. (3 walks, but still, I'll take it). Does he have a chance at redemption? I think he just might. Granted, the Reds are a stinkypoo team. still, He's been a bit more encouraging lately.

Montero has looked very impressive. I know it's only the Reds, but they did put up 14 runs last night.

8 innings 1 hit ball.

Sadly it's a 2-0 game and smells like a game Montero will somehow find a way to lose. Hope I am wrong.

Smiths bat has not once looked quick or generated any real power. Its ugly right now for him. They are seriously going to have to add good pieces around him to compensate until he hopefully figures things out next year.

Solid job by Ramos. Worth the non-tank result to see that.

Do we owe the Mets an apology on Montero? After all our mocking of the 57 chances they gave him maybe a light finally came on after the Yankee Stadium outing.

Ironically maybe giving up on Turner and Murphy too soon contributed to their stubborness with a guy like Montero. Or maybe it's just cause he's a pitcher who actually has NOT had serious arm issues yet, other than the one season he didn't pitch a lot and Collins/management was questioning his desire to get off the DL.

Soooooo.....I think Montero with a few more starts is almost a lock to be the #5 next season. Pretty crazy to consider. His stuff has always more or less been there.
