Why not? Nothing wrong with a 95 and a slider guy if the command plays up enough.

He just seems like a meh kinda pitcher to me. Maybe it's his 1.5 career WHIP that leads me to think it's not going to get that better in the NL. But like I said, whatever. We'll see how he performs.

Don't worry in 5 years you'll get the fruits of the 2017 tank! If you're lucky. And by fruits, I really mean fruit. Since jumping up 5 spots in the later rounds means even less than doing it in the first round.

Prediction. One or both pitch reasonably well and the front office uses it as an excuse to not upgrade the bullpen. Rinse and repeat.

This was fait accompli 30 days ago.

No doubt about it. The good news is that this plan is better than the "sign the last reliever available to a minor league contract" we've been running with for awhile. Ramos plus the arms brought back in the deadline *should* result in some 2018 fruits. Just shouldn't preclude the team from doing anything else. But I suspect it will. We're looking at 'nother round of MnL deals IMO.

I'm expecting them to move some pieces around anyway.

Yes because coming into 2017 you know what my first thought was? "Boy it'd be AWESOME if everyone got hurt and we won 64 games! That's what *I* want instead of a gd WS title."
