I've always liked Aoki. I always thought he was very under rated.

Not sure why. Almost league average hitter (not a bad thing), and a below average fielder.

His best two seasons were his first two in Milwaukee, but that is not the player he is, at this point.

Ok on the one hand I understand this but otoh I really don't. For a team that purports to have sincere interest in contending for the playoffs next season, Aoki is one of the lowest reaches they could make. He's a guy who hits everything on the ground and with one of the lowest hard hit rates. He's a 5th OFer, not more.

I know they are thin in the OF right now but this only cuts into the opportunity of someone younger. Someone suggested this is the OF addition that they referred to, meaning no Boyd call up. That would be unfortunate... actually pretty idiotic.
