Rookie maximums for at-bats (130), games pitched (30) or innings (50) in the major leagues"

If the 2 leaders are within 5% of each other, or the leader has less than 35% there will be a run-off between the top 2. If a run-off results in a tie the tiebreaker will be vote total in the previous poll, we will continue to "go back" in the polls until there is a clear leader.
*Rosario ineligible
*Dom ineligible

P.S. don't stress too much if you feel player X deserves to be on this list vs. player Y. It's extremely unlikely someone not yet nominated would be win any given poll. Nominate those you see fit.
** Executive decision, pulled the plug early on #7. By having the polls begin in the morning it allows for a more lively discussion. Lindsay was running away with the vote. Same with #10. Poll #11 will only have 9 options, I accidently had Kay listed a second time (copy and paste, sue me lol)

1) Andres Gimenez (SS) 12/27 votes-44%
2) David Peterson (LHP) 12/24 votes-50%
3) Mark Vientos (SS/3B) 13/24 votes-54%
4) Peter Alonso (1B) 21/28 votes-75%
5) Thomas Szapucki (LHP) 10/22-45%
6) Justin Dunn (RHP) 4/20-20%, runoff with Lindsay/Guillorme/Kay 9/22-41%
7) Desmond Lindsay (OF) 12/26-46%
8) Luis Guillorme (SS) 8/25-32%, run-off with Kay 11/22-50%, advances due to more votes in previous poll
9) Anthony Kay (LHP) 9/24-38%, run-off with Bashlor 10/20-50%, advances due to more votes in previous poll
10) Tyler Bashlor (RHP) 11/16-69%
11) Tomas Nido (C) 6/24-25%, run-off with Molina and Oswalt 12/20 60%

I went with the 16 year old for upside purposes, but there's a few guys I like here. I like Nogosek & James. I'm not as high on Holderman cause he's not been healthy and that's a flag. Not sure what to think of Blackham.

fwiw, I would have a few arms up next. In no particular order and prob before some of the ones on the current list: McGeorge, Harol, Villines, Hanhold

Villines def should be up soon. Was told by one scouting guy he liked him more than any reliever in the system, then sort of walked it back a BIT saying "I'd take Bashlor with the max upside". But yeah Villines really need to be up there soon. Too high for Hanhold for me... age 24 season in A+ 5.7 K/9, 2.9 BB/9, maybe he ends up interesting out of the pen but he's a clearly notch behind Villines and Harol Gonzalez to me. McGeorge has a shot. I'd have Hanhold clearly behind these other 3 mentioned.

I'd like to nominated Villines after Becerra unless I'm forgetting a nomination already cited. Anyone?

I'd have Harol behind the other 3. Given his [lack of] size and power stuff, he's going to have to prove he can survive as he climbs the ladder. I assume he'll start off the year in PSL. It's a wait and see on him.

As far as the other 3 pen arms, until he proves it in full season ball, I'd have Villines a notch below McGeorge and Hanhold. Villines numbers were off the charts this year but he only pitched in the NYPL. He'll almost certainly get Cola next year and turns 23 in July.

McGeorge split the year bet Cola and PSL and had outstanding numbers in both. I assume he'll be in the Bingo pen to start the '18 season and he's 23.

Hanhold was moved from the rotation in May and was dynamite from that point on. From 5/18 thru the end of the season (42 IP), he had a 2.85 FIP (1.28 ERA), solid peripherals and tons of GBs. He'll prob also start off in the Bingo pen and he's already 24. He's also 6'5" and has a nice downward plane to his delivery.

So, of the 3 it's not easy to separate them on talent but McGeorge and Hanhold are 2 levels ahead of Villines and IMO that's a separator for now.

Not making nominees but I also like (soonish)

Jannis, Rhame, and Ryder Ryan. I also have Andrew Church as a sleeper,(he'll be next year's Bashlor). But too soon to rank him based on what I think he'll become.

I'd like to see Villines have some success at higher levels. Guys who max out in the high 80s but succeed with deception are tough to rank when they have success in the lower levels.

I like a few position players in the lower levels, (mostly the ones BA mentioned), but a little too soon to nominate.

After that, I'd look at potentially guys like Kuhns, Vilera, JMM, Paez, and still Corey Taylor in the late 30s to 40s. And prob Matt Cleveland in this range too.

Planck seems near impossible to rank big bonus but shoulder surgery has ended many a career.

Kind of silly to hold it against 2017 picks for being in Brooklyn. That's a Mets decision, not a talent/age decision. Villines at KU this year 54/5 K/BB so in 2017 the guy threw 70.2 innings striking out 95, while walking 6... 95 k's vs. 6 walks!!

I go back to Blackham on this stuff too. Blackham was absolutely DOMINANT this year. If in July the Mets decided to have him skip A+ and he held his own on AA suddenly the view on here would be that he's a top 15-ish guy. I have a hard time letting the Mets sometimes perplexing promotion decisions dictate overall value of a prospect. The "stuff" reports are very good and so are the numbers.

The stats are great and he fools college and short-season hitters, but he still peaks at 88 mph. I'm not saying I'm not sold because he only pitched in Brooklyn, I'm saying I'm not sold because he's a deception guy who doesn't touch 90. He's a plus/plus deception guy - fine. I'm still not ready to rank him this soon.

I could be wrong, I'm certainly no expert, but just my 2 cents.

on Blackham . . . maybe. I could be convinced to vote for him soon.
