Going to be a very wet field today anyway if they even get the game in.

Did anyone else think it was odd to let Harvey pitch in Houston, first game after Hurricane Harvey? Or just me?

Oh and pitching Harvey on short rest - . . . glad they rethunk that one.

This seems like Sandy: publicly backing the manager, but telling him behind closed doors that this stupid thing isn't happening.

I thought of that too.
Not like he was going to blow anyone away....

Yep, the injuries have really given us a watered down Harvey.

It's not just the injuries. Harvey has some destructive tendencies.

He does. However, I think those tendencies also made him a bulldog on the mound when he was healthy. It really seems as if the injuries have drained him of his abilities, leading directly to a sizable drop in confidence.

Harvey is a non-factor to me at this point. The way I see it, he's 13 months from never pitching a game with the Mets again - at the most. I still don't think they'll trade him this winter, then again, if they do it must be because they truly believe he is shot.

If he looks bad the rest of the year, would we even tender him?

`

(((I thought we were doing hurricane puns))) - too soon?

I agree with you 100% on Harvey. I think he's got the fire and the competitive spirit and I like that about him. But if his arm no longer has it, that won't work for him. Losing top notch stuff is a blow to any pitcher. Some figure it out, some don't.
