Aoki will be on the Mets in 2018. Taijeron will not. I see no issue with this.

There's an obsession over the idea that if you stink, you need to play the younger of 2 options every time, even if there's no chance that younger guy is ever a regular player for you. I don't necessarily understand that. Aoki may actually be our OD RFer next year if Conforto isn't ready - probably he or Nimmo. Those are the options they are evaluating "for next year" right now. Taijeron would simply be playing a guy for the sake of saying you're playing a "younger guy". He's in no way in that competition. In fact, what they're using him as right now is almost a perfect tryout for any role he could possibly carve out - "instant power" off the bench, since he can't play the field. He's obviously not succeeding in it (as an understatement), but thats important to figure out, too. If the thought is he needs regular ABs to have any chance with his approach, thats not something that'll be useful for us to consider for a bench/power role.

Matt Reynolds is clearly some type of organizational teacher's pet. I don't get it, but I've long given up trying to, and at least its only over Cecchini right now versus when he was playing over an actual major leaguer in previous "looks".

Reynolds is truly horrendous. Only thing keeping me from not despising the guy is the Mets are so bad that nothing they do can really bug me.

I think you mistook my post. I think all four are non factors for this organization so I could care less (although I agree that Aoki will definitely be here next year). I just find it funny because Cheech was a first round pick and there really hasn't been a better opportunity than now to watch him play. Tells you what they think of his potential when Matt Reynolds his getting his starts.

Yeah on top of there being no coordination or plan, there is some problem in assessing their own talent. If they can't yet tell that Matt Reynolds is a fringe MLer at best, there are some deeper problems going on. Cheech may turn out to be nothing better but I think it prob behooves them to find that out.

And I won't blather on about wasting the opportunity to see Evans, Boyd or McNeil now either since you prob know how I feel about that. I mean it took so long for Nimmo to finally get some daylight and he's sorta kinda showing that he belongs... it's tough to get an opportunity here and it shouldn't be this tough esp given their current place in the standings... on top of which, they invested so much time in some of these draft picks that's it's all becoming a huge wasted effort... and given who they are playing over these kids makes it all the worse.
