Seems like Garrett's velocity is up too...... just getting dominated by Jose. Another young arm for cincy that looks good but isn't quite there yet. Meanwhile Jose is earning that second look as our utility player in '18.

Speaking of one of the folks who share pictures of Sandy, Tommy "he's a bit more effective then Plawecki" Milone...

I'd like to see Reyes back next year in a utility role. Post ASB he has been very solid.

Carig says: "And for what it’s worth, early indications are that Reyes isn’t seen as a fit with Mets as they plan for ’18."

That's interesting because he seems the best fit of any realistic option short of moose

Reyes wants to be here- can't imagine they need to spend a ton to keep him here. Reyes in the super utility role would allow the team to invest in other parts of the team. Rivera would be competition but his defense has been horrible and we have no idea how the defensively challenged TJ will be after Tommy John.

Matt Reynolds, Cecchini, etc haven't come close to earning a MLB spot.

I'm usually team tank, but I gotta say, I've enjoyed these last few wins. Evans is funny looking but he hit the ball hard in his first AB, just happened to hit it straight to a reds infielder. And Cecchini can field. (2nd base at least). He can't hit but he's got a glove.

His error total was like only 13...I'm sure that was just 2nd base but I wonder if the Mets will entertain him playing all over the infield...It may help him career...

Yeah, his error total was way down this year after being ugly last year and I don't know if he has the arm for SS, but he got to a ball today that none of our other 2nd basemen would have gotten to. Good reaction time and a quick step. It was a pretty play.

Which makes it all the more bizarre that he's leading the team in PAs this season.

Do I actually hear a little love for Jose?

He actually IS a good fit for the 2018 team, especially with TJR likely being out, at least for part of the year. Jose has been a good influence on the younger players and can play several positions, adequately. Why not?

As for Cheech, he had a lousy season but I am not convinced that he will not be a decent hitter.

Here's hoping Taijeron hits a few more.....love to see someone with some power be the 5th outfielder...
