Screw the 86 Mets. I'm sick of them. They suck for squandering their legit chance at being a dynasty

Remember when baseball players could sell their autographs for $10 bucks a pop and people would line up? They don't do that anymore, do they?

Too bad. Straw could have done that.

My first thought on hearing this was that hopefully, D isn't getting reacquainted with his demons.

Just imagine if there was a Wild Card.

And they lost the Wild Card round in 86?

No. They would have made the playoffs more and had opportunities to be a dynasty.

or it could have been worse. No idea how it turns out. More chances would have been nice

2019 is the 50 year anniversary of something rather cool. I wonder what the mets have planned for that, and how their relationship is with the 69 team.

30 year anniversaries? Who celebrates 30 year anniversaries. If the Yankees did that, they'd be celebrating something every year. It would be silly. Mets can do that cause they only have two titles.

Straw on EPSN Radio just now, sounding like a petulant child.

We can change the title from presumably Sandy to definitely Jeff, Straw in the little bit I listened to basically confirmed he was talking about Jeff, said he didn't know Sandy at all.

So we're back to blame the convenient bogeyman I guess. While I have my issues with Straw it's just striking how every time Jeff's name gets uttered it's for something bad and nobody has ever had anything GOOD to say about the man in the last two decades.
