Just don't be the team stupid enough to give 9 figures (or close to it) for Mike Moustakas.

I could not agree more.

Not that those 3 have a lot of value but Harrison has had a lousy 2nd half and I think the Bucs are probably happy enough to move the salary and don't have the leverage to expect a big return. Having said that, I'm not sure Evans couldn't do what Harrison would do.

174 PAs in the 2nd half, Harrison is 255/293/424 and an 86 RC+. I'm pretty sure Evans would outplay that. And I like Harrison but he's been very streaky and he is getting $10M+ per year. I'm also well aware that I'm the high guy on Evans, but at least in the small sample he's shown to this point, I've been spot on.

He has 11 PA. (and his wRC+ is 88, not that that really means anything after 11 PAs).

"Mike Moustakas for 3B" is the 2017 version of "Wilson Ramos for C."

The internal options are bad, but cheap, yet everyone wants to go get expensive, but still bad.

I think we should trade for Joey Gallo just so we can watch Nitey's head explode at the .211/.337/.546/.883 batting line.

If you hadn't seen him then you might respond thusly. Of the 6 balls in play outs he's made so far, 3 have been sharp line drives. His hard hit rate is 55%.

The problem with baseball is that the system is rigged so that your options are to spend money foolishly, or to put it in your pocket, and the peasants revolt if you put it in your pocket.

If there is a solid baseball reason to put it in your pocket, the fans will be supportive.

I suppose there's a first time for everything.

What's the other option to spending it or not spending it?
