There isn't any.

In the old days you could pump it into player development, but with MLB squeezing pennies that isn't an option anymore.

8)

There's still ways to spend it. Why do you think the Dodgers have the largest FO in baseball and the A's the smallest?

The Mets have let multiple FO members walk without replacing them. The "Mets insider" on BBI consistently points to this as a major reason things are the way they are.

Yeah, their FO is the same size as that of Oakland at this point.

I'd opt for quality over quantity.

The Dodgers have the biggest budget for such extravagances.

DePo, MacDonald, multiple high level scouts and now Fisher have all left the organization in recent years and to my knowledge none of really been replaced.

MacDonald was replaced by Tanous.

Google Boy leaving was a blessing.

Fisher literally just left like a week ago, no?

Again, this guy has said for 3 years now "they keep losing FO members and don't replace them". He's a pollyanna type if anything so he has no reason to make this up. Most of their college scouts are "long time" members of the organization but they lost at least 2 major scouts last year and one prominent writer felt the Mets "pretty clearly" were favoring their SEC scouts more heavily over the past 2 seasons "and not necessarily for the good" ie a "shift".

- DePo was another voice in the room. That's the point.

-Tanous was kicked even further upstairs. Marc Tramuta was scouting director this season (likely because the 2016 draft looked so bad).

Tramuta apparently was the one who stumped for Dunn as well... quite a reason to be promoted...

Heyman No one is going to campaign to take David Wright’s job, least of all good guy/de facto New Yorker Todd Frazier, but there’s a belief Frazier could have an interest in going crosstown to the Mets if there’s a determination Wright isn’t going to make it next year. Frazier, the Toms River, N.J. product, was thrilled to go to the Yankees (he’s usually pretty happy, it seems), and maybe they will consider bringing him back, too.

This would be very disappointing. I believe he is a good guy, but he is older with a diminishing skill set and never hit for average. Hard pass.

I'm so sick of hearing about that guy and how he's from Jersey. He's only a slightly above average hitter - basically Wilmer offensively but older. Similar to Cabrera too.
