I have trouble evaluating a guy like D'arnaud who's suddenly come to life in junktime. Did he actually find something this month, or is he just hitting now that the pressure's off? With Reyes we KNOW what the answer is to that...

On the contrary, suddenly the pressure is on him now that Plaw looks like a real ML catcher.
What if d'Arnaud is the next guy to turn into a permanent monster over night?
At least he's not doing it halfway through his walk year.

That didn't prod him earlier in the year when Rene Rivera was actually hitting like someone other than Rene Rivera and he was already losing PT. If anything it's more possible both guys DID actually take the management vote of confidence to heart.

There's really no comparing the two. Rene was never going to be a real threat to TDA the way Plaw is.
In any case, there is some non-zero chance that the Mets actually will have a productive catching tandem next year.
TdA finally found a dang swing and stance to work with now....slight opened, no dramatic bat wrap and the most important thing...a nice big leg kick before the swing...suddenly he’s mashing the ball.
