Feel great for Taijeron. Great moment for him.

Feels like Dickey was really the bigger story in this game. He had pretty much a throw back game, sure partly bc these Mets can make any pitcher look really good right now. It felt almost like an audition for his triumphant return next season (assuming the Braves don't pick up his option).

Nice games from Plawecki and Nimmo.

Nimmo is now .298/.414/.492 on the season vs. RHP

And believe it or not, the Mets have gotten 27 homers and 88 RBI from their catchers this season.

I don't know how he keeps that OBP without being a huge power threat, but it's impressive.

I did a little math during lunch today:

Nimmo with an OBP of .398 in 171 PAs since Aug. 2
Plaw with an OBP of .403 in 77 PAs since Aug. 19

They shouldn't be hitting #4 and #5 in the order, but both players, especially Nimmo have shown that they belong somewhere on a major league roster in 2018. If Conforto is only expected to miss a few weeks at most, Nimmo might be sufficient to hold the fort ::ducks:::

I'm fine with the fort being held in the OF and at C. I am not fine with the fort at 3B. We need a big healthy bat there.
