Just as I feared, Keuchel and Verlander are going to have to beat the Yankees by themselves. The Yankee starting pitching has held up much better than I thought in this series too.

I did think Astros in 6 because of the big two but after the way they pulled that one out of their rear end last night this feels like 1996 again. Destiny's darlings.

McCullers was pretty awesome last night, so it's not that. The Stros oddly aren't hitting. That's the glaring issue right now. They have 18 hits in 4 games.

The Yankees are 5-0 at home so far in the playoffs, and 1-4 on the road. Obviously, the Stros will need to play big and steal this game 5 in YS. Having Keuchel on the mound for the Stros should help but they are going to have to hit, and Tanaka has been super hot so getting to him early is going to be important. To say their lineup is due would be an understatement.

If the Astros win tonight, they will win the Series. Not exactly a bold prediction. I still think they will win it otherwise, but it will obviously be more difficult. To me, I think the Yankees would have a difficult time on the road as they have all playoffs.
They'll probably find a way to win tonight (can't see the Yankees losing this game, really) but blow it down in Houston. I also wouldn't really trust Morton in a Game 7 (would it even be his turn? Keuchel on short rest?) though he actually wasn't terrible as his stat line.

I don't know if they'd go to Keuchel to start on two days rest. Maybe for a batter or two in relief...

Cubbies stave off elimination one more night...

Justin Turner is raking, looks like he's gonna be NLCS MVP barring something weird happening. Mets could sure use a guy like that.

So go find the next Justin Turner if it's so easy to figure out that a random guy is going to break out

Remember when the 7Line sold shirts saying Mets “Took Back New York”?

Good times.

Yeah. The Yankees are setting up for another pretty good run. And they are doing this now before getting anything from Gleyber or Frazier. And imagine if they get Otani, which is a very real possibility...

My great regret in life is having gotten myself blocked by Rich prior to this season, as I am missing what I am sure is some great double-talk.

Considering he didn't actually last all that long in Game 5 he could probably pitch a couple innings in Game 7.

He threw 86 pitches but in an elimination game, you would expect all hands on deck even on just 2 days rest.

I hate to admit it but this postseason has taken the "Yankee hatred," completely out of me. What's not to love about this team? They have owners that spend money. They have a scouting department that drafts impact bats like constantly. They have a GM who for the most part makes terrific trades bringing back young talent and whatever young talent they may trade away in those deals don't seem to pan out. I've figured out my main hatred is now towards the Met ownership who won't spend money like they should and a GM/Scouting department that quite frankly hasn't drafted well. Yeah, that just about sums it up for my current feelings

Their fans are the only reason you need.
