Rookie maximums for at-bats (130), games pitched (30) or innings (50) in the major leagues"

If the 2 leaders are within 5% of each other, or the leader has less than 35% there will be a run-off between the top 2.

Lugo- ineligible
Montero-ineligible

*Executive Decision: Tebow is ineligible until post top 20 unless someone can make a valid (non-comedy) argument otherwise.
- For the remainder of the list (43-50) a run-off will only occur if the top 2 vote getters are tied or within 1 vote of each other.

Thanks, and nice work Metro. Nice to get it done basically by the new year.

I have this feeling that we overlooked a few sleepers, but I have no idea who they are, so . . . we'll find out next year when they wake up.

I think several of the 35-50 guys will be sub 30 guys by midseason...

Looks like a solid overall system to me. Matt Eddy had them in the 10-15 range and that seems pretty fair given the questions that need to be answered regarding our top guys.

1. Rosario doesn't have any real glaring "he needs to..." but
Smith... body? Power?
Dunn... sample size? Starter or reliever?
Szapucki sample size

etc etc. I'm overall pretty happy with the overall state of the system all things considered (I'm less high on the SP depth than some). Would love to see a few guys emerge.

I think there are a bunch of teams right in that 8-15 range and we are prob one of them. It's hard to distinguish the teams in this group IMO. And whether you see them as 8 or 15, it's a pleasant surprise, and a product of a FO that's been loathe to give many opportunities to kids unless thru injury... which is a contradiction based on how they went about their rebuild of the club - building slowly thru drafting and developing their own talent. They've developed their own talent but haven't been aggressive about opening opportunities for them or using them as trade chips.

Does this mean we are predicting multiple graduations, or disappointing seasons by the top 30?

Yeah, just for the record Eddy is a pretty solid "pro-Mets" guy but that can be off-set by his not being "as high" on Gsellman as some of us, or Dom Smith as some people (I'm personally still iffy on Dom if I'm being honest). But take the "respected" sites/writers (BP, Jeff P, Law, BA etc) and I suspect the Mets would be in that 8-15 range. I will It's really close to impossible to argue a team is better depth wise when in actuality how many people know another teams system beyond the top 5-10 names? I like the Mets depth too but I'm sure fans of 10-15 other teams would be make arguments for their system as well. I'm pretty happy where the Mets stand given the fact they have been contenders and still have a solid farm.

I hate the Yankees for having a good farm system. They've barely rebuilt at all and haven't earned it.

I'm guessing part of that is signing half the top international guys a year or two back, part of it is the haul they got for chapman and part of it is dumb luck and good drafting.

Hate them.

12:44 Thomas Szapucki or Robert Gsellman, better mets prospect? not necessarily for 2017
Eric A Longenhagen
12:44 Gsellman. Good chance Szapucki is just a reliever.

I feel like we've heard this before about most of our much lauded rotation. I'm really not a fan of pigeonholing a guy as a reliever when he hasn't even made it to full season ball, particularly when you're comparing him to a guy who looked like a bottom of the rotation starter - or reliever! - as of six months ago.

I also think Szapucki has had less eyes on him than some other P prospects. A non-highly touted HS kid with limited pro innings.
