If you were watching SNY when they were showing the backfields a few minutes ago and wondered who "Brantley" was, a quick Twitter search shows the Mets have signed pitcher Justin Brantley.
Michael's cousin, sort of interesting scouting report, and a short RHRP who had big success in A ball and then a bad partial AA season - and apparently released? 26 years old.

Brantley was absolutely awful in Indy ball last year but reportedly touched 94 in workouts pre-signing with the Indians and showed something of a decent slider. Why not?

He was solid 2014 and 2015. Undrafted out of college, but he's got a brother on the Indians, so that probably helped. 2016 he pitched 36.1 innings, gave up 34 walks and 46 hits. Ouch. (that's between AA and Indy-ball).

Jimmy Duff released At one point was quasi interesting (tall, local) but got bombed in St. Lucie, was demoted. I would guess there is a health component as well. We had him at #49 in the system pre-2016 season.

Duff was fun to read about. He apparently had a very odd delivery, bending over nearly to the ground while throwing, but he only got plus reviews his first year, after that - nada.
I looked but couldn't find a video of him pitching.
