The odds of him being called upon next year - now that they chose to keep Reynolds and Cheech on the 40
Man over him, not to mention TJR and Wilmer and whoever else they might sign over the winter and possibly Guillorme if they add him- appear to be slim.

Writing is on the wall when you get removed like that. Not like a TJR situation where there’s no room on the 40 at the time - this is a case where you’re on, and they’re clearing showing preference.

That seems to portend moving on. Fresh start, etc.

I'm not convinced Reynolds or Cheech will be here by ST.

I don't think all of the dominoes have fallen yet.

Sure, maybe not- but neither of those guys have the requisite service time to be milbFAs. If they were interested in maintaining org depth and felt Evans was the guy to call before then in case of need, they wouldve otrighted either of them. This looks like a conscious decision where the ramifications are obvious.

The great Tommy Milone for some reason gets to stay. Is there a minimum that you have to keep on the 40 man before you add or something that I don't know about? Matt Reynolds gets to stay too? Wowza

Your wish has been granted Tommy Milone has been removed from the 40 man roster and is now a Free Agent. 40 man roster now at 34.

I have the roster at 37 but I am guessing you're not counting Blevins, Cabrera and Reyes? or my counting is wrong.

No I’m counting those guys. I’m not counting Wright, Matz, Wheeler.

They will be added once the World Series is over.

I would guess Evans re-signs on a minor league deal with a ST invite. He's still pretty close on the depth chart so it might make sense for him to give it one more go with this organization. In all likelihood he'll be called up at some point next year.

Maybe...

Depth Chart 2B or 3B
- David Wright (Will start on DL)
- Asdeubal Cabrera
- Wilmer Flores
- New FA (highly likely)
- TJ Rivera (may start on the DL)
- Matt Reynolds
- Gavin Cecchini
- Phil Evans

Lots of ? Marks but 7th or 8th on a depth chart isn’t close... He should find a new team and become Justin Turner.

Yeah but 2B and 3B are not the same and thus mixing these together as "depth chart" is misleading. ACab is really the only 3Bnan there unless they want to have the same merry go round there was last season. I'm not saying that Evans fixes 3B either but as previously discussed being viable there is valuable.

It remains plausible that the team has spoken with one or more of these players about re-signing. Apparently none were claimed so it's not like they are in high demand. It's not like they will get more than a minor league deal elsewhere.

They need to keep shedding. Remove Matt Reynolds and two of Montero, Smoker, and Robles.

Please no more Reynolds.
