Wow, just looked at the mlbtr list. I think they are way over for Darvish at 6/160M, yikes.

And again, idk maybe a foolish team will throw lots of money his way, but i don't see a team willing to ignore the medicals on Tanaka. I don't see him doing better than what he's got now and I'm not so sure he's opting out.

And 4/56M looks a little rich for Lance Lynn who I almost forgot about, but maybe. But I wouldn't be surprised if Arrieta gets a 5th year. He's been very durable.

Bruce at 3/36 is a bargain. At that price, I really think we should sign Bruce and Conforto goes over to CF. Outfield defense, overall would be meh so the team would need to shore up the infield defense, which probably is more important anyway. Right now, the team lacks power and Jay Bruce would help out A LOT.

I think the Indians are a solid fit for Bruce. MLbTR has us ending up with Frazier for three years...yeesh.

Cosart is the only guy that might fit the needs.

Centerfielder via trade perhaps...?

I wonder if Wade Davis has love for Dave Eiland. Maybe the Mets try to sign him

If Tanaka's only getting 3-63 then his agent failed him horribly by advising the opt-out.

Props on the effort. I won't do an entire MLB list - too many details.

Do you really see the Royals handing out 3 years-108? I suppose on 3 players it's possible, but they're still a small market.

Chatwood was 3.6 and 2.2 war the last 2 seasons. Even with ugly home numbers, I think he gets 30 on the low side, maybe more. Starting pitchers are expensive unless they're 40 years old, then you can get them for 2-15. I like him as a possible affordable target, but 2-15 would surprise me.

And you have the metsies signing 2 relief pitchers - no chance. I think you have a relief pitcher fetish, which is fine. I'm not judging. But they have a big hole in the OF (4 outfielders in the 35 guys on the 40 man roster right now) and 2 of those 4 are injury prone and a 3rd will be coming off surgery and the 4th is barely out of AAA and an unknown. Cespedes, Lagares, Conforto, Nimmo is not enough OFs. Signing an OF is a given.

They also arguably have a hole at 2nd, unless you trust Wilmer there - which actually might not be all that bad an idea.

They have room to maybe make 3 signings. One will be a starting pitcher, one an OF and the 3rd, probably a 2nd baseman or utility guy. I don't see any bullpen moves this free agency.

I've always loved a good underdog story. Go Mets (2018). I know an underdog when I see one.

Do people still use bWar? In any case, yeah, I could def see Chatwood getting more. I've been seeing people talk him up recently, so he could conceivably get more than people are projecting. Does seem like he could have the best shot at being '2018's Charlie Morton.'

Royals? Yeah, they are clearing a lot of payroll - something like $55M, plus they will get 3 comp picks for the 3 guys they'll give QOs to. I think the 3 FAs I have them for is something like $36M per so they can handle that, given how much they are clearing. I def see them being active.

Mets? If they don't land Cozart, I think they add an IFer via trade. And not so sure they add anything more than a 5th OFer... maybe even a return of Aoki.

NYDN has the Mets signing Bruce 4 for 60, Nunez 4 for 44 and Kintzler 2 for 25 (UGH on that one) yikes.

I really want no part of Bruce going forward. He reminds me of a player from the 80's. A time when it was more realistic to see them severely get worse at 32/33 and on.

Thats crazy money for Nunez and Kintzler.

LOL, opinion on Darvish swings wildly from mlbtr's 6/160M to Jon Harper's prediction of 4/76M! Wow. Clearly, I'm closer to Harper's but I think he'll get that 5th yr. But we're at the same AAV of $19M. Could def see the Yankees jump in esp if Tanaka opts out, and also with CC a FA.
