Bautista for me

I don't think Evans is a prospect at all. Feel free to bump this post if I'm wrong, HK

I'm not really into keeping tabs on such things. In any case, I'm not claiming him to be some great everyday player, just that it looks like a skillset that could work well as a role player. And that has some value.

A useful role player should be in the 10-15 range, so I agree, if Evans has any kind of real career (not just an OK rookie year and good month like Eric Campbell), then we're under-ranking him. He's got a shot, but I'm not a big believer. I'd put him in the mid 20s. Bautista has a shot to be a closer. That's I think, more interesting.

and, I've always loved a good underdog story. Go Mets (2018).

A useful reliable power arm is always a good thing even when not a closer.

That 29 teams passed on the chance to claim Evans doesn't bother me as much as the fact that the Mets choose to keep Matt Reynolds over him. But I guess I think the Mets, and a few other teams, misevaluated, because I voted for Evans here.

This is a weird one. The guy can handle several IF positions, and appeared to have a solid process and good contact skills at the plate, which just validated the minor league numbers of the past 2 seasons (putting aside his slow start to the 2017 season).

I'm not sure what else people would be looking for, frankly, aside from a longer track record. But other than ML success, which he hasn't had the opportunity for yet, he hasn't really gone off track or taken long to get to the show. If he had taken the college route instead, and came out after his junior year, then 2015 would have been his minor league debut. And that would likely have been below A+, which is where he played in 2015. And his "breakout" occurred the next season in 2016, which is the same track as someone like Peter Alonso. Alonso will play AA this year at 23 and may get his ML debut the following season at 24, which is when we saw Evans.

I don't think getting the 21st prospect right or wrong is bump worthy.

I've seen the locals here bump more ridiculous things.

It's the off-season. Somebody can bump a Nick Evans thread and suggest we bring him back for all I care.
