Harrison is so uninspiring.

Pretty sure Flores can bat 272/.339/.432 at a 1/3 of the cost.

We’re about to find out what Shaw will cost.

The Cubs are “moving quickly” to sign free agent reliever Brandon Morrow, Bruce Levine of 670thescore.com reports (Twitter link). The two sides are “closing in” on an agreement, Jon Heyman of FanRag tweets.

$10-11m for morrow per year...

This would be a good year to wait out the market on second basemen. I think Tigers will become desperate to move the salary eventually and the prices on Harrison and Kipnis will likely be prohibitive.

Cain will be interesting to watch.

Will eagerly await for all other good bullpen moves to be made so the Mets can start moving.

Moving fast.

Rosenthal
Free-agent reliever Luke Gregerson in agreement with #STLCards on two-year, $11M contract with a vesting option, sources tell The Athletic. Deal is pending a physical.

Agreed.

Except for the break my heart part. The Mets have done a sufficiently good job at breaking any sort of emotional attachment I may have once had for them. At this point it's solely habit that I check what they're doing.

Also why aren't we/they/anyone just handing 2b to TJ "All. I. Do. Is. Hit. Line. Drives. Everywhere." Rivera?

Seems like a pretty good gamble by the cards. Gregerson had a down year last year but 2 years 11 is a bargain if he returns close to 2016 numbers. Contracts so far this off-sea seem more fair/average than overpriced.

This more or less validates Shaw at about $8M per. I wonder if anyone will give him that 4th year.

Cain gets interesting if he falls into our price range.

That is not an endorsement.

Gregerson was my fave target this offseason. Has been as good as any of these second tier guys in the past- had a poor ERA (for him) but everything else looked fine this year- and he’s gonna cost 1/3-1/2 of these others.

Oh well.

Let that market come to us!
