"The positive spin," my retirement account manager assured me, stuffing bills under the mattress in his office, "is that you won't lose a penny."

Well, fun making aside, I don't care if the moves come in December or March, all that matters is the team we have on April 1. I like Kipnis and I'd be fine with that move if he doesn't cost too much. Then get a 1st baseman, maybe Lind or Napoli or that guy from the Redsox that Metro likes so much, and I'd like to get a starting pitcher, but now I'm probably just being greedy. Sign the best guy they can find to a minor league deal.

Get a real 2nd baseman, especially a lefty (Kipnis). Get Lind or Nap, we already have our relief pitcher and the Pen looks OK. That's not a great off-season but I see no way in which it's bad. It's also about what we expected going in.

Outfielder should be a necessity over Lind/Nap. Bruce would be a better fit.

I don't see a victory lap being necessary for them having done what amounts to the bare minimum and for "not losing" a player. And regarding Uceta, the bigger takeaway is that many here have probably been overrating him. So yes spin would be the proper way to label this.

I wonder what your posts would be like if you were a Marlins fan?

I'm running out of patience with this organization. Claiming Adonis Uceta from the Mets was a freakin lay up here.

Jannis may be a real sleeper*. I am quite happy that he wasn't claimed.

It's okay if we take neither.

LOL. Sadly enough, Jannis' major league debut might be one of the only reasons to watch the Mets this year.

Duda is a league average first baseman, so this makes sense.

Considering that Mike Napoli is literally a net negative, the fact that he can stay on the field doesn't really work in his favor.
