Mike Puma saying Dom to AAA, A-Gon to start the season at 1st. No real surprises.

The competition was fierce, but the better man won, I guess.

Yea, 100% they guaranteed him the 1B job out of the gate. No way he comes here or do they give him major league deal otherwise.

I'm thinking (or hoping) they told him he'd get a major league deal and have a shot to win the 1B job in camp, with the handshake agreement to cut him lose if he's not the everyday 1Bman.

If you enjoyed the James Loney 1B Extravaganzaa in 2016, you’ll love Adrian gonzalez in 2018!!!

But remember- Loney was Terry’s fault right?

They did go to the playoffs that year.

The competition entailed Gonzalez signing his name before Dom lost thirty pounds.

He who doesn't learn the errors of the past are doomed to repeat them.

Jerry Crasnick says this is official - nothing from the team yet.

Learn? This is the Mets. The only thing they ever learn is how to be gunshy about absolutely everything.

Adrian says he will work with Dom on his defense, there he goes being a bad teammate.

Wait until Dom takes his job and see if his tune changes. What happened in LA last year carries more weight than a statement, IMO.

Are you suggesting that he shouldn't be competitive? He's a professional athlete. If he weren't trying hard to beat out DS, it would be ridiculous. That's what he's here for.

If that's the case, AGone and what's left of his 545k will be gone.

Eh, we heard a lot about how much Cabrera could help a young Amed Rosario, only to have him turn into a total sourpuss about switching positions to accommodate said young Amed Rosario. I'll believe that Gonzalez is going to be supportive when I see it.

Also: does Dom need help on his defense? I thought that was one part of the game that we felt pretty good about? It's basically everything else that's a concern.
