I think Alonso is going to become a top tier prospect this season :)

That almost certainly will not happen to any consensus, bc of the bias against RHed hitting 1Bmen.

Szapucki's surgury was July 20th, he's got a chance to pitch a little. Humphreys', August 29th is less likely.

Almost no chance. The Mets believe in an 18 month schedule. If Szapucki throws 10 innings it would be an upset. Either way the point is total lost season for both appearing in a game or not.

I think he still needs to prove he can be an asset vs a liability with his defense.

Alonso will have to absolutely DESTROY the ball this year to be a top tier prospect. RH 1b coming off a horrendous defensive season + at least a portion of his season will be in LV.

That's my feeling as well. I like Alonso, but a poor defensive 1st baseman prospect is a challenge. I don't worry so much about the righty-lefty thing, but some prospect writers probably pay attention to that too.

I think Lindsay has a shot at top 100 next year. There was one wierd writeup on him that said something like "once he could see" . . . I don't know what that was about but it brings to mind wild thing Vaughn. He couldn't see, so he started the year out awful? Once he got past the awful start he was god, but he's also got to play a full season.

I think Peterson has a good shot.

I think Gimenez has a good shot if he hits a little better. I'm curious if the mets will promote him, or, because of his age, repeat him in Columbia with maybe a mid-season promotion.

The #6 pick has a shot at top 100 too.

Vientos is a long shot, but just barely possible. Kay too - long outside chance but there is a chance.

I thin they'll have 3 names in the top 100 this time next year, Peterson, Gimenez and #6 pick. Mauricio is also a sleeper, if he comes stateside, bit of a long-shot but maybe.

Kay seems extremely unlikely. He's going to be on an innings limit and wasn't a "pure stuff" guy to begin with. He'll be 23 years old and odds are in St. Lucie or even Columbia. Sure if he's dominant he has a shot but he has a lot going against him. Mauricio again almost no chance unless he's stateside and shockingly good/reports are glowing. Maitan didn't make BA's list and his hype is/was off the charts. The Braves had Maitan spend most of the season the APP. If Mauricio is here it'll almost certainly be in the GCL. Gimenez is going to have to put up a strong actual line. He's not a scouts dream tools wise.

KLaw claimed that he switched to new googles in May to help correct a vision issue. He got pretty good results after that so that could have been it. Had elbow nerve transposition surgery after that so he should be healthy this year. Big test year to put it altogether I'd say.

Lindsay is a NP if he doesn't hit this year. You can say "he'll only be...." but trust me on this one, he either stays reasonably healthy and hits or we will be talking about his draft status for years until he fully falls off the list. Like Nimmo, it's about time he actually did something with his supposed "speed". He was sold as a Rondell White type,,, not so much at this time.

I know it's not your point, but if he comes up here at some point and just hits, who cares where he was ranked on a top 100 list? Unless those defensive issues are truly as bad as advertised.
