I don't know what Gimenez will be - nobody does. I just don't like the Tejada comps for upside. - downside - fine (Tejada also carries a stigma as he's not remembered that fondly), so I think we should stop using him for Comps entirely. It's too easy but it never sounds like a nice thing to say about a player.

Who made a Tejada comp? I saw a Carpio comp.

Lukas Vlatos from AA did

" If everything works out, Gimenez should offer solid defense with minimal power and an occasional steal - sort of like Ruben Tejada’s 2011."

Longenhagen gave Gimenez a 50 grade, Peterson as well, Mauricio a 45 with helium

One of the writers (or bloggers as you called them) at Amazin Avenue made it and others have made it, mostly in other threads. MJ was referring to Tejada and to me when he said "I don't want to bring him up again"

Carpio's a tricky one, he looked very good, borderline first round pick talent, then he got hurt. I think Gimenez has higher upside now than Carpio had pre injury. I don't like that comp either, but to be honest, there are no perfect comps. No two players are alike, so comps will usually be flawed. I still don't have to like them.

In 2016, it looked like the Mets had a real find with their fifth round draft pick Woodmansee. In fact, despite the team having drafted other collegiate shortstops higher than him, it was Woodmansee who played short for Brooklyn. Heading into the 2017 season, he was also the one who skipped Columbia and was assigned to St. Lucie.

249 ab's... 75 k's in BK in 2016, .631 OPS. Talk about low standards

I remember you quoted one of the writers saying they liked him. I think players should get a pass their first season.

Now his columbia numbers, post injury were awful, so there's also that.

In Conlon's case I feel like this kind of means he's an organizational player.

Sandy signs a veteran LHP or 2 this winter and Conlon is starting Game 2 for Bingo.

This spring lefty competition is going to be LIT.

Reminds me of the days of Chase Huchingson getting talked up for a few days, Robert Carson, Jack Leathersich, Scott Rice...oh man. Good times.

Where’s Duane Below at!?

I really wouldn't mind having Jack Leathersich on board right now.
