Not even sure how I should feel about this? The word meh comes to mind.

Pluses: Good locker room guy, adds a little more power to the lineup, prevents us from playing Reyes everyday

Minuses: Horrifically low BA, especially the last couple years - another typical one-dimensional Sandy hitter that gets 20-25 HR's, has a decent OBP but K's a lot.

At least cheaper than I thought he'd be, and Reyes is actually a bench player

Nice.

Frequently critical of this FO- but here’s finally an example of this groups commitment to “waiting for the market” finally working out.

Ok not the worst deal ever. Basically RHed IF version of Grandy so if you liked him you should be fine with this. A bunch of head scratching moves this winter to me tho.

Yeah they be a horrifically boring team to watch this yeah, that's for sure.

Not a ton of money at all.

Should be able to get a REALLY good relief prospect for him in July....

Yeah, and if you're using the "He's 19" logic, then I guess the best report a scout could give us is:

"I have no idea. He's a teenager. He may go through 5 arm surgeries between now and his 30th birthday. He may add a pitch. He may lose a pitch. He may put on 30 lbs and add velocity. He may put on 50 lbs and eat his way out of the league. I literally have no idea what he is going to be."

But thats not what these guys are paid to do, nor what we are looking for them to do, right?

Wow. Shocked. Crazy cheap too. Basically same deal as AsCab.

Maybe this is the deal that finally ends Reynolds run on the 40 man roster. Of course they'll probably surprise us and finally DFA Montero.

And AsCab gets to play his preferred 2b.

And Reyes is now a pretty good bench player.
