Familia is one of several ACES clients in the Mets clubhouse. The Brooklyn-based agency also represents Mets captain David Wright, outfielder Juan Lagares and catcher Kevin Plawecki, who said he had just heard about the case secondhand Tuesday morning in the clubhouse.

Calcaterra roasted Heyman for this. Essentially slandering the Levinson's on Boras' behalf.

The Levinsons have already issued a response essentially saying this happened years ago and they have repeatedly been exonerated in the period since, and that this is basically a shakedown.

There's a pretty sweet insinuation that Blackmon joined the Levinson's to do 'roids in Heyman's piece as well.

What's the slander if he's just reporting what the lawsuit says or what someone's words are?

If those are the only Mets guys that are clients, I can honestly say .....whew what a relief. But I think this blows up the whole, the ball is juiced baloney MLB has been feeding the press. People tend to forget that AROD basically showed the whole world how to beat MLB's drug test with the use of gummies. The way 30 home runs have now become the new norm, I'm willing to bet this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Slander is probably a stretch from just the written word, but there have been allegations that Heyman does PR for Boras as if it was an actual report, so that does start to pose questions: namely, did Heyman "report" this story to harm a business rival of Boras for Boras?

That's a big problem.

Plus, the agent that filled this claim has a bit of sketchy past with Melky Cabrera.

I don't think this is going to end up being a real story.

If you go back and watch footage of games from the late 90's, you're going to see a bunch of players that look like WWE wrestlers. It was amazing how bully players were getting when juicing was out of hand.

Players don't look like that anymore, and their durability (the real benefit of a lot of this cheating) is clearly down.

There will always be cheaters, but I don't think this is going to be a scandal.

The ball is 1000% the reason for the power surge.

This, plus the fact that there's a clear discontinuity between what was happening through the first half of 2015 and what has happened since. This definitely has something to do with the ball.
