Syndergaard went for a run. Told Ed C he can interview him while they are running.

Woah boy.

Real talk: Is Noah Syndergaard a clubhouse cancer?

Update: he returned after to do an interview. Phew. Crisis averted.

Did he look like he didn't want anybody bothering him though?

Ha ha but Noah is a bit taken with himself clearly: https://twitter.com/Mets/status/968206974914564098

Saw Robles high-five a little kid in Spring Training which bought him another appearance in my book.

Have we ever seen anything to indicate that Alonso is actually capable of playing the field?

In college his rep was "fine/average" suddenly... scary bad.

MLB.com-He's a first baseman only with well below-average speed, though his hands and footwork at the corner infield position should be adequate.

Law-Pete Alonso went about where he should have gone, although I wonder if he hadn't broken his hand a month ago and had been able to play in the SEC tournament whether he would have gone higher. He's a very solid across-the-board offensive performer who projects as an average everyday first baseman, perhaps better if the power develops further than expected.

Robles wasn't good as his first pitch got ambushed over the LF fence, but defense was shoddy behind him. There was also a wind-blown hit.

Not sure I saw anything glaring on Alonso today. He actually made a great pick to bail out Evans early in the game.

At least maybe this means the annual "Is this the year Robles has figured it out!?", complete with Mets officials quoted as loving his upside, spring puff piece gets delayed/scrapped.

Robles is what he is. I honestly can't even remember him getting good press to be honest, although I am out of the loop with the press. I figured I would have remembered seeing it posted here.

Guy should not be guaranteed a job though. Anyone watching to report on Callahan and Rhame?

Scout told me had trouble scooping 2 balls in the dirt. Went out of his way to mention it to me.

"Dan will love to hear Alfonso dropped an easy one for a run. Won’t be scored an error since it’s soring, but very very sloppy. Looked awful between one inning scooping short hops. The good with the bad.
Then roped a laser beam as hard as a human can hit a ball. Loud out."-verbatim
