This is already a few appearances for Drew Gagnon this spring, a 28 yr old with an ERA over 6 in AAA last year.

How about we get some looks at even the darkest of dark horse lefties, e.g., Regnault or Roseboom or Griset? Has to be better uses of these innings than Drew Gagnon.

Regnault has been borrowed many times but the game flow has not required him yet. Gagnon only pitched because Smith couldn’t get through his second inning.

Ramos concerns me. Can't "Harvey hit 96!" and then ignore Ramos clearly being well below his in-season norm.

Understood, just saying, thats 3 appearances for Drew Gagnon through the first 12 games of spring, and I don't think I needed any.

If they really aren't going to bring in an outside guy, I think it would behoove them, if they are using "borrowed guys", to look at some of the lefties who have had some upper minors success. Not that I think Regnault or any of those guys realistically will be carried, but the chance of finding another Josh Edgin spring story - given the opportunity available - is better than Drew Gagnon opening eyes, I think.

Harvey hit 96 is super misleading. I don't even remember seeing that, but even if he overthrew one, the median radar reading today was definitely 92 or 93.

I read first inning his average was 93.6, no idea where the number came from though.

96 was the pitch outside black to Cabrera that everyone thought was a K except for the ump.

Luckily JPK charted it all for us. He hit 95 1x and 96 1x in the first inning. Most were 92-94, a few 91's and there was a 90 mph something that may have either been a flat slider or a slow FB. Most of the sliders were 86/87 today so don't know.

Rhame was really the one who impressed today with velocity. I was starting to think it was a slow gun given Ramos' slow readings and Sewald only peaking at 89, but then Rhame hit 98 and was consistently at 96-97. Think he dialed back to 95 on a 3-0 pitch, but he was zinging it.

Smith was 95, but there was definitely more explosiveness from Rhame - he had guys way late.

Regnault needs some looks. Just because...

And as for Duda over A Gonzalez, I would have signed Lind over either, and I wouldn't have signed Lind.
