Would have to say Wheeler clearly has an advantage on Matz for the 5th starter job at this point. Long way to go though. 3 weeks is eternity with this staff.

So far......I have not been a fan of Frazier's defense. I assumed he would be much better, but he looks slow and his throws go offline and don't have much zip. I hope this is not what to expect.

Blindly relying on DRS,without really having much frame of reference on a guy, to tell a defensive story has never led anyone astray, so I wouldn't worry too much...

Of course not, but these narratives sometimes get passed without much checking it.

Before last year: Todd Frazier was a composite 20 DRS in 6 seasons. Thats a decent little glove. He goes +10 last year, now he's elite. I think its likely hes "OK". This is nothing against Frazier, more just on how people go nuts over 1 season of DRS.

Framing data is the same way.
