Familia picking up where he left off last season.

He looked pretty good before today. Can't get on a reliever for one bad inning.

He's looked ok. Still not seeing the same light's out stuff from past seasons. The back end of this bullpen could turn out to be a major weakness. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Let's hope he's just working on some different things - a new pitch, a new grip, something.

We really have no idea what he was throwing since the game is on neither tv nor radio.

Gameday shows him catching a lot of the plate during that 4-run inning.

That's not a perfect estimator, but somebody that knows baseball is logging him throwing pitches down the middle of the plate.

No, there is no logging of individual pitches in spring training. Those are just auto-fills for strikes/hits. They all show up right down the middle (not that gameday is ever super accurate anyway in season).

I'm very aware of how gameday works, and of its limitations in spring training.

I've done pitch tracking and know people that still do.

Those are human inputs.

Guerrero, Bichette, Gurriel and Alford have 11 hits combined for the Jays today. The future is pretty bright over there.

Nimmo with a great game. Syndergaard with a really nice game. David Thompson on base 3 times. Bautista with a bump in the road.

Nimmo needs to play and bat leadoff for this team.

Nimmo making an impression so far.

I think Montero's got to get traded, though I wonder if there are any good comps for him, guys who throw 95, decent stuff but bad numbers, career 1.7 WHIP. Chance he works things out and becomes a #4 starter, but I don't see it happening here.

Yep eventually you need to cut loose Montero and come to terms with it not happening here.
