Time to flip flop vargas and Lugo. Bad teams can't afford the legacy of saving a quality starter for that role.
Taking Lugo out of the pen creates a new problem.
If they come to the conclusion that Vargas needs to pulled from the rotation, then they either need a new starter or a new late-inning reliever.
Well Vargas replaces the overall innings the pen would lose, as far as high leverage appearances, I say give them to Blevins. He was better when he wasnt in this purely one-batter-reliever role. Start giving him full innings and see if he can start getting his touch back.

Not by a longshot, the Orioles for one are pretty bad and they actually pay more money to their 3-5 guys than the Mets or other hideous rotations like the Royals, White Sox and Reds. I mean my god this is just bad for a team that was actually 'trying' to win:
Cashner 11 starts 5.07 ERA 1.67 WHIP Cobb 8 starts 7.32 ERA 1.93 WHIP Tillman 7 starts 10.46 ERA 2.21 WHIP
Honestly Matz at a 3.8 ERA really isn't even that bad, he just doesn't pitch enough innings...it's really 4-5 that are a waste but most of baseball can say that.
