Between Smith, Alonso, and Nimmo, I think Adrian Gonzalez's days as a starter will be seriously tested by the All-Star break.

Yeah, it was a fun couple weeks, but I really don't expect him to stick for the whole season.

Outside of his one HR, he's batting .200/.310/.229/.538 for the season. It's been rough.

Also regarding Fermin, it doesn't sound like he's particularly toolsy so yet another guy who will be comped to Ruben the Great lol

Waaaay more pop. I'd say he's more Wilmer than Ruben.

Was Fermin a bonus baby?

Worth noting that he's got 14 strikeouts in those 9 games to go with the 4 triples and 3 doubles. Looks kind of Champ Stuarty.

$250 K. Same year as Kenny Hernandez, but he's from Venezuela and they're tougher to scout than DR. He was also listed as 6' 145 lbs when signed. The writeups still call him skinny and "needs to add strength".

I don't know if the "vermin" in the article is a typo or if it's just an earlier spelling of his name. Could be the later.

Here's a fairly lengthy writeup of the mets 2014 international signings. Thought it was a pretty good read.

Jeff McNeil homered in the Binghamton 2nd.

Marcos Molina survived the first inning against Bichette and Guerrero Jr.

1-0 Bingo

I'm not crazy about rostering two first basemen on an NL team, but Alonso and Smith could probably make for a really solid platoon in the very near future.

Any word how Molina's stuff has looked? He couldn't have looked more underwhelming this Spring. Looked like a non-prospect to my untrained eyes.

Hasn't this been the book on him for a few years?
