I'd like to see Harvey sent to the Rays for Ramos. Include something extra if necessary
Rays pay Harvey's salary we pay Ramos's salary (4M higher)
If Harvey turns it around with Rays, they can move him for something
Rays save money, get a Cheech type prospect from us and the chance to add something else in July.

I was all for Ramos when he was a FA but he has been pretty bad. I'd stay away at this point.

I might try that swap for Mesoraco. He seems to be healthy. I'm not sure what Ramos has left.

I'd let him pitch.

I did read in one of the articles this morning that he does have an option left, but he can refuse it if he wants to. A switch to bullpen seems likely for Harvey when Vargas returns, with Gerson going back to the minors. But when Swarzak eventually returns, I'm not sure who will get demoted. I guess management would have to decide between cutting Reyes or Ramos. Or sending Wheeler back to Vegas?

Throw him in the pen. If he balks, DFA. The 40 spot is more important than his awful production and he's never re-signing here. He's a liability every time he goes out and starts.

Strong feeling this is headed towards path of least resistance, e.g., 6 man rotation.

And Gerson will go down for Vargas. If Swarzak ever comes back, I could see them even sending Lugo down "to get stretched out".

Phantom injury on the horizon for Harvey? General fatigue or some nonsense like that?

So we’re not interested in competing this year then.

If he balks you file a grievance with MLB and the union. He only has the right to turn down a minor league assignment. He doesn't have the right to turn down a change to the bullpen.
