Don't bother asking. Will just make another statement without backup to support it. Not worth your time.
1st Round pick. Career .300 hitter playing mostly against older players. All Star at every level. MVP of the Florida State League. Already Major League tested.
Other than that.....
Draft position, BA and all star/MVP awards are all pretty weak metrics. It's also pretty weak to include MLB tested as a positive, considering how poorly he fared.

Other than what? Alonso was also a high pick and 'career .300 hitter'...
Is ML tested a thing when you have -.6 fWar? Not to mention he was drafted 3 yrs before Alonso.
Come on with the silliness.
Smith hasn't had a season anywhere near what Alonso has done. That doesn't g'tee ML results either. But it shows there isn't much case for Smith being ahead of Alonso.

Does that apply to your horse too?
My horse has always had legit power, which was always a question mark for Smith. Last year for example only 3 MLBers had higher average exit velocity than Alonso: Judge, Gallo and Cruz.
Now he appears to be learning to control the strike zone and is becoming a complete hitter. And his stint so far in AA is much more productive than Smith's, albeit a few years older (inevitable for a college guy).
I'm obviously not high on Smith, but also really high on Alonso. If I were the Mets I'd try to trade Smith while/if teams might still think he has value. I'd be shocked if ever became a plus 1st basemen.
In a year where he had a .112 iso as a 1B. Josh Thole's iso in St. Lucie was higher than that.
Essentially your argument is:
- Draft pedigree (Alonso also has) - High batting average (Alonso's is higher) - Younger than league at his levels (so is Alonso) - Allstar in all seasons at his level (so has Alonso) - EDIT: also, just checked, this isn't even true for Dom. He was an all star at St. Lucie and Bingo, but not in rookie ball, Savannah or Vegas last year. - Was called up to majors and failed so that he was replaced and sent back to the minors (why is this a good thing?)
If the Mets called up Alonso for the next month and he hit .180 and then they dropped him down to Vegas...what would your argument be then?
Also if we're going with weird "was voted by his peers" type arguments, Alonso has 2 Player of Month and 3 player of weeks in his short career. Dom has 2 POM and 1 POW.
