Peterson was a ground ball machine. Nine outs recorded via ground balls vs. two air outs. This doesn't include the fact that four of the six hits were on ground balls via the play-by-play log.

I'm still a bit concerned by the apparent lack of swing and misses, but it was encouraging that he increased that a bit in his recent Columbia starts prior to being promoted.

Not going to be down on him for this one start obviously, but it's worth keeping any eye on as something that needs to improve.

Any word on Santos' stuff? Was he considered a good sign?

Just to be clear I'm not casting any judgement on Peterson. I too have some concerns with any contact oriented guy until they reach the upper minors. The start was "fine/solid" in my view.

6'6 when they signed him, now up to 6'8. All about being projectable. Was "only" high 80's when they signed him, was told he was popping some 93's with good "feel" for his secondaries. Def one to watch but he's SO far away. He's on my short list of most interesting guys in the system. But again even in a dream scenario you are looking... what 5 years away? 6?

Consuegra, Santos, Hernandez, Polanco, Marcano are all interesting. This Regnault guy who has started well isn't on my radar other than being a huge kid.

@jimcallisMLB notes Kelenic is "in the conversation" for the Mets #1 prospect. Interesting. #Mets

Not that surprising. He's the guy with buzz at the moment, while the ceilings are uncertain for the others at the top of the system. I think the ceiling for Gimenez and Alonso are both pretty high tho.

Stanley Consuegra is 2 for 2, including a 2-out 3-run triple in the 2nd inning.

Mets2 lead 4-2 in the 5th.

Early returns are that he looks like the goods. It's no accident when the K rate is that low. And now it seems like the XBHs are starting to come.

Insider I spoke to said his range of outcomes is extreme. Said he reminded him of Lagares a bit. Also a converted SS like JL. Said Mauricio is more smooth than explosive.

I know it's early still, but it sure looks like we have a good reliever in Ryder Ryan. Is he potential closer material?
