None of Hill, Gilliam, Megill, Smith, de Oca have appeared yet, I noticed.

Whereas Tripp, Mitchell, Winans all have.

Odd, or is it a roster issue?

Here's a link to a dated but interesting article about Bryce Montes de Oca. Seems he had major elbow surgery while in high school. Hope his current DL stint is not related to that surgery.

I’m not really sure what the Mets are waiting for with regards to promoting their minor leaguers in short season ball.

Columbia has been playing with 22-23 guys for little bit now...
Columbia also still has 2-3 guys that are deserving of a promotion.
Brooklyn, Kingsport, GCL all have atleast 3 guys that should be playing in a higher level.

Trade Asdrubal ASAP get McNeil up. Regardless, get McNeil up. Dump Reyes.

Seems interesting to me that a few of the young IFA guys who had some contact/plate discipline issues last year have improved so much in the early going (SSS, of course). Specifically, Edinson Valdez and Anthony Dirocie.

Now, I get that repeating a level matters a lot, as does age when you are talking 17 or 18 vs 19 to 21, but still. It's the sort of thing that never got better with guys like Ivan Wilson or Brandon Brosher, so I do find it encouraging that there does seem to be some instruction being successfully implemented with the Rookie league guys.

What teams are looking for a bad fielding, OK hitting 2B with bad range who can play 3rd if needed? I'm not sure anyone is that interested. I'm sure they'll trade him, but I don't see any teams lighting up the mets phones inquiring about Ascab.

And they're not going to trade Reyes without a viable alternate SS option. It ain't happening. Sorry to disappoint, but I think some people think the mets management are failing cause they haven't traded Ascab and cut Reyes. That's not how it works.
