Wonder what’s going on with Charlie Morton? Doubtful we’re engaged but would love to add that arm.

Red Sox supposedly getting closer on Eovaldi.

Will be interesting to see how the Stros pivot bc he seemed to be their top SP target.

Again, it seems less likely that Noah is moved now but I wonder if teams will come knocking as some of these SPs start to get picked off.

He'd be nice to have. Hopefully BVW realizes at some point that teams with Championship aspirations don't have guys like Jason Vargas in their rotation

Looks like the SP prices are way higher than projected. Corbin at 6/140 and Eovaldi 4/68.

Two things:

-Corbin is getting less because the Nationals defer contracts
-Eovaldi money is speculation by Heyman, he hasn't signed

Unnamed ex-teammate of Pollock said "100%" chance he lands on the DL this season. No idea if it's a personality/personal thing between the two or his view of how he plays or lack of toughness but there's that.

Only $10 million deferred.

Eovaldi to Sox done pending physical.

What's Keuchel projected to get? I feel like he could make some sense for us.

Ahh, not surprising. FA prices higher than folks think at outset when they project everything to be a bargain for their team.

We'll see how the "WHY IS BRODIE TRADING JUST SIGN PEOPLE" stance holds up.

If Eovaldi is getting $17 million per season coming off of a good 75 innings, you have to think Wheeler became that much harder to extend.

Antonio from Como had this to say about Wheeler:

Quote:
As far as Wheeler specifically, the Mets aren't likely to gamble on his health after one good season. If healthy, he'll be a key member of their rotation this year for as long as they are in contention. If they fall out of the race, he'll become a coveted trade chip. Either way, the Mets are almost certain to allow Wheeler to explore free agency next offseason.

Doesn't make sense to me, but it's above my pay grade... anyone want to venture a guess as to what the 2020 rotation will be?

Peterson or Kay could also have a shot to win a spot. If Wheeler is dealt who knows what could be in that package.
