@JeffPassan 1m1 minute ago There is significant momentum toward a deal that would send Robinson Cano and Edwin Díaz from the Seattle Mariners to the New York Mets, league sources tell Yahoo Sports. While they characterize a deal as not done yet, there is an increasing expectation a trade will get finished.

Wow! Well, kudos to Martino for calling out the smoke... deserves an apology from me.
I'm super curious to see all the pieces in this deal. I still can't fathom Seattle eating money and giving up Diaz for junk just to dump Cano, so Mets must be giving something(s) decent back in return.

Cano has no options in his deal so blocking such a deal would make absolutely zero sense unless he 1) wanted an extension (not happening) 2) was insistent he were trading to ONLY the Yankees (no indication that's the case) #Mets

I hate this organization.

Guess I've got some walking back on Martino to do. Hmph.
There's a new sheriff in town!
Edwin Diaz is a marvelous get, if they do this.
If this happens, Martino hadit as well as BVW earlier. Maybe he's got a new source.
Jeff is his source.
