I mean clearly he's calling the in-game shots or we wouldn't have seen Lagares bunt with 2 strikes in the 9th, Lugo used with 7-run lead, etc. But it feels like we all know he's overmatched, he knows he's overmatched, the players and BVW (likely) know he's overmatched and this is just a charade with the only question of how long it will go on and at how large a cost.

But, yeah, I actually tend to agree with your sentiment. I think BVW would love a good reason to bring in his own guy.
