Cano is a sunk cost. He can't be anything but an afterthought in your decision making.

He's not in the decison making. Its the giving up of two top 100 prospects that should be in the decison making process. You can't move your top prospects for a ML key piece in year one and then trade a different ML key piece in year two for prospects

That doesn't get you anywhere.

Yeah, this is what everyone said in the offseason when the Noah rumors were floating around.

Looking back, 2 key missed opportunities this winter clearly were trading Noah at his high point, and cashing in Nimmo or Rosario for Realmuto and avoiding Wilson Ramos. Two rumored moves that got the most pushback, really. But we'd be better off today. Freddy Galvis + JT Realmuto is like a 3 win improvement over Rosario and Ramos in half a season.

Nimmo had a .850 OPS before Dr Jeffy boy graduated from the Zeebo School of Medicine and had him play through whiplash.

and struck out once a game and people are talking like he's the second coming. Get real people. When you have a chance to get the best reliever in the game who's only 24 and give up Kelenic in the deal, you MAKE that deal. Stop with the nonsense.

Last winter the Marlins wanted "Major League Ready talent" for Realmutto

Asking for a trade that benefits both teams isn't too much to ask for a guy like Noah

Personally, I'd rather keep the guy because its more likely that he works out his issues and has an excellent 2020 than a guy we get back becoming a star.

Yes, and they were asking for Amed Rosario.

Instead they stopped doing that and got Sixto Sanchez.

Whats the better move?

You're kidding, right?

"We will win now and in the future."

After 3 more low dollar bandaid signings this offseason, we'll be "internally projected as the favorites in our division." They're not going to do anything that can be viewed as waiving the white flag on 2020.

How many teams can say they're getting a Jed Lowrie in April?
