He makes league min...
He can play multiple positions
He’s blossoming into a potential all-star
He’s the one feather in BVWs cap
He’s the Sun Bear...

Zero chance he’s traded this offseason

Yeah, Dom and JD making league minimum. No reason to move either unless one can really help you get something to help elsewhere (and I'd prefer keeping JD at that point).

Most of Brodies movies didn't do well, but he definitely tried to create depth and for the most part, the lineup never really fell off unlike in previous years. So when Frazier got hurt or Nimmo was hurt, JD came and blossomed to a very good hitter. Past years we would have endured Rymer Liriano or the likes up here lol. He def has a spot on the team next year with an eye to get him to be better at 3B mostly.

No it’s quite a legitimate question. If and I know it’s a big if and Ces comes back, there’s really nowhere for him to play. He’s awful in the field. If I’m Brodie I think long and hard about trying to sell high.

Because having too many good players is bad?

Because we're certain that Ces will play a full season?

Did I say or did I not say that Ces is a big IF? And JD has only the hit tool. It'd be nice to have players who can not only hit, but field a position passably. I'm not advocating to trade him. I don't think anyone should be surprised if we hear his name in trade talks this offseason

Because our team defense is trash. LOL

Not saying I want to deal JD, I'm actually a BIG fan.

But if you have to make changes to help the team going forward you'll have to make difficult decisions.

Yeah, and if you're using the "He's 19" logic, then I guess the best report a scout could give us is:

"I have no idea. He's a teenager. He may go through 5 arm surgeries between now and his 30th birthday. He may add a pitch. He may lose a pitch. He may put on 30 lbs and add velocity. He may put on 50 lbs and eat his way out of the league. I literally have no idea what he is going to be."

But thats not what these guys are paid to do, nor what we are looking for them to do, right?

This isn’t really a case to sell high bc Ces ‘might’ come back. Even if so, Ces is in the final year of his deal while JD is young and cheap for several more years. But more importantly, you don’t look at a guy like this and focus on the one thing he doesn’t do well; you focus on the things he does really well. Bats like this don’t grow on trees. While he’s never going to be a plus defender, you find ways to get him in the lineup esp since this lineup leans LHed. Bottom line is that this guy is probably your LFer for the next 5 years.

JD won’t be going anywhere. And his name won’t be the subject of any speculation.

He'll be a great backup after they give Frazier his 3 year extension.
