I just want a manager that consistently makes obvious in-game moves and doesn't consistently make obviously wrong in-game moves.

They should be going all in on Showalter asap. He is the best in-game manager out there and consistently gets the best out of marginal players.

Thanks for the perspective everyone. Still lukewarm on Girardi...

Looking forward to seeing who emerges.

I'd love to see Rojas get the gig. Great guy and a superbe communicator...

Doesn't matter when ownership and GM is dictating things.

and struck out once a game and people are talking like he's the second coming. Get real people. When you have a chance to get the best reliever in the game who's only 24 and give up Kelenic in the deal, you MAKE that deal. Stop with the nonsense.

Agree. I haven't really liked most of the recent managers. None of them actually seem to know how to manage during an actual game.

Hopefully Puma is correct here, but feels like something BVW wouldn't risk. Show is a guy who will get his place in the room for baseball ops decisions and could absolutely see him slowly pushing BVW out, esp. given the track records. Show is a move an established GM can afford to make, not Brodie. Of course, it'd be better for us as fans if Show was in that room.

I fully expect it to be a first timer so Brodie can dictate things and then scapegoat the guy if/when things don't work out.

Showalter can be the smartest guy in the room on TV, because players will tune him out in about 10 minutes.

Rosenthal throwing Carlos Beltran's name out there as a potential replacement if we choose to get rid of Mickey.

I think Martino said he'd be surprised if Beltan is interested. Doesn't think he left the franchise a happy camper (though he's too good of a guy to say so).
