These guys may be great, and i hope they are, but it says a lot about a system when 3 of the top 4 are in rookie ball and the number 1 is just a step above that coming off a season where it would be described as "He really held his own for such a young guy!"

Realistically, there are 3 guys on this list that have a realistic chance of being big leaguers over the next 2 seasons. Wooooof.

I'm going to say 4 but they are definitely low level heavy...

I can’t wait until we trade half these guys away to get players instead of just signing free agents.

Out of curiosity, who goes above Smith?

Most people would put Peterson above him, but maybe BA isn't a fan of Peterson.

Newton is toolsy and often towards the back of some top 10 lists, but he had a crappy year, tools is all he has right now.

Kilome might be a candidate but Tommy John hurts his status. MLB.com has SMith pretty high too, ahead of Szapucki at 11, behind Peterson, Kilome & Newton, but to their credit, this is a pretty dated list and their ranking on Szapucki is understandable.

Open to suggestions, but I think Smith is consensus top 12, so #9 isn't a huge stretch, unless somebody really likes Junior Santos or Tony Dibrell or another guy usually ranked in the teens somewhere.

Edit: I like Humphreys, so he might be in the mix for top 12, but I'm leaning towards putting him at 13, Dibrell 14 . . . after that, not sure, maybe 6'8 Junior for his upside at 15. Gilliam is a fast mover who probably sees majors next year, but I'm not sure where to rank him or how good his stuff is.

According to Baseball America, the teams that drafted (and signed) the most productive talent of the 2010s...

1. @astros
2. @whitesox
3. @Marlins
4. @BlueJays
5. @Mets

Amazingly he's still only 22 (turning 23 in a couple of weeks).
