The Mets have told Edgardo Alfonzo his contract won’t be renewed. Alfonzo was manager at Class A Brooklyn, which won the New York-Penn League championship this season.

Just speculation on my part, but maybe Alfonzo was upset he was being passed over for the manager spot in Flushing.

I do t think he'd accept the ambassador position then...More likely it is BVW cleaning the organization to remake it his way.

Shame though...He was a really good fit in Brooklyn and might have been a good Syracuse guy.
