Who's the Mets #10 prospect

Fri Jan 31, 2020 1:42 am

Thought I'd get this started again. Polls close in 2 days. If there's a run away winner I might call it sooner.

1. Ronny Mauricio (SS)
2. Matthew Allan (RHP)
3. Andres Gimenez (SS)
4. Francisco Alvarez (C)
5. Brett Baty (3B)
6. Mark Vientos (3B)
7. David Peterson (LHP)
8. Thomas Szapucki (LHP)
9. Josh Wolf (RHP)

I'll defer to others, and I know somebody said "relief pitchers next" but I don't remember any names. But I think Robert Dominguez should get strong consideration for next nominee and perhaps even for the next vote. (call me crazy if you disagree)

He looks like he will be an exciting prospect.

But he hasn't played a single minor league game yet.

He could easily be a top ten player next year if he dominates in short season baseball next year.

Or this could be his peak.

Those two links make him sound like a #1 draft choice. But that is only team built buzz. That's enough to get him on my RADAR, but not enough to dream about him yet.
Given that scant info I'd probably chose him in the 20s, over some more established players with utility infielder/middle reliever stuff.

But he's on the short list of people i'd love to see when i, hopefully, go down to Spring Training this year. (I don't know if it's possible, this is the first time i should be their early enough to see workouts, but one can always dream)
